The overall objective of the Project is to conduct a comprehensive technological foresight for the Polish food industry as well as to provide a strategic vision for its development and to select priority R&D directions for the next several years. The specific objectives of the Project include: - preparation of a strategic development vision and strategic research program aimed at the development of high-quality food technology in Poland,
- specification of measures which shall ensure close connection between science and industry in terms of developing new food technologies based on food science and biotechnology as well as provide a high level of food security,
- contribution to creating a policy facilitating the development of high-quality food technology,
- integration of key business and research partners interested in high-quality food production technologies,
- support for agricultural producers and agri-food enterprises in order to help them face future challenges and provide them with measures to build optimum development strategies.
The objectives of the Project are in compliance with sub-measure 1.1.1 of the Operating Programme – Innovative Economy: Research projects with the use of foresight methods for the identification of scientific research and development directions by using the said methods in terms of supporting the preparation of development strategies for particular fields of science and selected economic sectors, both at the national and regional level, as well as in terms of preparing strategies for the existing Polish technology platforms. The Project fully complies with Priority Axis 1: Research and development of new technologies, as well as with the whole Operational Programme – Innovative Economy, especially in areas related to increasing innovativeness of enterprises, boosting the share of innovative products of the Polish economy in the international market, and augmenting the competitive advantage of Polish science and its role in economic development. |
